It snuck up on me this year, but apparently it’s time for another Bloggiesta! Spring Bloggiesta is a week-long blogging marathon hosted by bloggiesta.com. From today (Monday, March 20) until Sunday March 26, bloggers around the internet will come together to support and inspire each other while working on bettering their own blogs. I always find Bloggiesta events to be a helpful reminder for me to take care of long-term blog-related goals and to get some great advice from more experienced bloggers.
This year I unintentionally got an early start on Bloggiesta when I took a huge step for my blog last week: I became an IndieBound affiliate! You can read more about it in my announcement post, but basically this is my way of monetizing my blog. Now you can buy books from independent bookstores by clicking the links at the bottom of my reviews, and I’ll get a small cut of the profits!
It’s good that I got that head start last week, because I don’t have a ton of time to focus on blogging this week, but I’ll make some goals anyway and see how it goes:
To Do List:
- Add IndieBound links to the rest of my published reviews—Got most of these done but still need to add links to some of my earliest posts
- Cross-post old reviews to Goodreads and Amazon—Didn’t even touch on this one. Back on the long-term to-do list it goes!
Participate in Books for Thought’s Sidebar Mini Challenge and clean out my blog sidebar if necessary—Done! Added some shiny new social media widgets- Get a week ahead on blog posts and/or plan out some posts for April—Eh, kind of got started on a few post ideas
- UPDATE: Should have made “Participate in twitter chats” one of my original goals, because I’ve participated in two this week!
Overall, a pretty successful Bloggiesta! Though I let my productivity take me wherever it wanted to go, rather than necessarily following my original goals.
Are you participating in Bloggiesta? What are your goals? How is it going so far? Let me know in the comments!
Looks like a manageable and good list to tackle.
I am going to see what the sidebar mini-challenge is about. Thanks for the link.
Have fun, and see you on the Twitter chats.

SPRING BLOGGIESTA
Great list! I am eager to see how it all unfolds.
hi hi!
this is my first time participating in bloggiesta so it’s been fun checking out the different blogs and getting tips on how to better the blog 😀
i used to run a mishmash blog where i put anime, books, movies, and just anything i could think of but then i decided to split things. i moved all my anime stuff to a new blog so my goals for bloggiesta are to clean up my book/movies related blog. make sure old links still work, give it a new look (which I just did yesterday, i’m liking it :D), and crossposting
i also want to do more posts but i know that’s going to take longer and bloggiesta is only a week right?
good luck on your goals 😀
Haha, I’m always over-ambitious with my bloggiesta goals, since I don’t actually have free time during the week.
It sounds like you’ve made good progress on yours!
I did the sidebar mini challenge and have added a few IndieBound links, but that’s all I’ve done so far. Hopefully I can take some time tomorrow to work on the rest.
